At the Foundation, we are honored to work with families, individuals, and businesses to help organize their charitable giving and support favorite charities that make a difference in our community.
You have the power to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in our community. At the Foundation, we accept a wide range of assets that can significantly enhance your philanthropic impact. Whether you aim to make an immediate difference or establish a legacy, our team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.
When you make a gift to the Community Foundation of Abilene, it is tax-deductible and will go a long way to support nonprofits in our community.

These membership groups like Future Fund or Friends of CFA amplify the Foundation's mission and extend the impact of local philanthropy.
Give to your existing donor-advised or other CFA fund. Login to the donor portal to get started. Note: Due to high volume, grants requested after this date might not reach their destination by the close of the year. Please contact CFA Donor Relations Director Misti Collier (mcollier@cfabilene.org) if you need assistance.
We offer a variety of fund types to meet your charitable giving goals. Whether you have a specific cause you care about or want your fund to support a range of causes over the years, we’re happy to guide you through the process. Please contact CFA President/CEO Katie Alford (cfa@cfabilene.org) for details.
Items such as private stock, publicly traded securities, tendered stock, or restricted stock must be received in the appropriate brokerage account and posted by the year-end deadline. Delivery period can vary; consult with your advisor to plan accordingly. Please contact CFA Chief Financial Officer Patrick Lewis (plewis@cfabilene.org) for account information and transfer instructions.
For those 70 1/2 or older, Required Minimum Distributions can be made directly to the Foundation from your IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). QCDs are not taxed as income. Your QCD can be made to a field of interest fund, scholarship fund, unrestricted fund, or field of interest fund. Please contact CFA President/CEO Katie Alford (cfa@cfabilene.org) for details. Note: Donor-advised funds are not eligible recipients of QCDs.
*If these items are not received into the Foundation account by 12/31/2025, the IRS will not allow a 2025 deduction. Please contact cfa@cfabilene.org to ensure your intended gift is properly credited. The Community Foundation of Abilene does not provide tax advice or services. Please consult your personal advisor with questions regarding your tax planning.
