The Community Foundation of Abilene typically has multiple grant cycles each year with opportunities based on geographic location and program focus:
Community Grants
These grant cycles are available for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government agencies to meet immediate community needs in Abilene and Taylor County and are offered twice per year. Please see the grant guidelines below for funding priorities, grant restrictions, timeline, and details for the online application process.
Future Fund Grants
This annual grant cycle supports Abilene nonprofits serving children and youth. Please see the grant guidelines below for funding priorities, grant restrictions, timeline, and details for the online application process.
Volunteer Fire Department Grants
Both the Foundation and our donors recognize the important role VFDs play for our rural communities. This funding opportunity provides added support for VFDs to purchase safety and equipment needed to serve and protect our neighbors in these communities.
Windham Fund Grants
Our rural grantmaking initiative is specifically for outlying communities in the greater West-Central Texas region. The Windham Fund was established to support special projects, capacity building, and capital projects to build on and ensure a higher quality of life.
