Abilene Gives 2026 marks 10th and final year

December 15, 2025

Since 2017, the Community Foundation of Abilene has hosted Abilene Gives, an annual day of online giving designed to raise money and awareness for local nonprofits.

The giving day event has equipped organizations with tools to grow their fundraising capacity, increase visibility for their missions, and connect the community with causes they care about. Nearly $14 million has been raised for 200 participating nonprofits through Abilene Gives.

With the launch of the Foundation’s building expansion project, educational programming will be greatly enhanced, strengthening the Foundation’s ability to support nonprofits throughout the year. To focus fully on these long-term initiatives, 2026 will mark the 10th and final Abilene Gives.

Abilene Gives has been an important on-ramp for hundreds of nonprofits. Retiring the event allows us to deepen and expand the ways we support organizations throughout the entire year. The Foundation’s work is not ending — our commitment to Abilene’s nonprofit community is growing.

Although Abilene Gives is concluding, the Foundation will continue to serve nonprofits through its ongoing grantmaking, donor partnerships, and core operations, along with the opportunities available through the additional meeting spaces. A two-day nonprofit conference planned for spring 2027 will build on the momentum and foundation created by Abilene Gives.

The Abilene Gives website (abilenegives.org) also functioned as an online discovery tool, allowing donors to search for nonprofits by cause area. That functionality will continue through the Foundation’s nonprofit directory, Nonprofit Compass, which uses the same underlying platform. Nonprofits can register for free at nonprofitcompass.org, create a profile based on their Abilene Gives information, and collect online donations year-round.

In addition to the visibility provided by Nonprofit Compass, nonprofits continue to be eligible for the Foundation’s multiple grant cycles. Most grants are funded by the Foundation’s endowment through unrestricted funds; applications are available at cfabilene.org/grants.

Abilene Gives 2026 will take place online on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST.

Nonprofit registration will open on January 30, 2026, at abilenegives.org. The Foundation looks forward to celebrating a decade of impact and launching new programs that will carry its mission forward.
