This class provides a practical introduction to Parkinson’s disease. Learn the early signs to watch for, how symptoms may progress, and what resources can support those living with the condition.
We’ll discuss approaches to daily living, mobility, communication, and emotional well-being; ways caregivers and friends can help; and the benefits of time spent creating.
The goal is to provide knowledge, confidence, and community for anyone touched by Parkinson’s.
Presented by Lorraine Wilson, who is the president of the Parkinson’s Community of Abilene. Lorraine was a longtime educator (Abilene ISD, Abilene Christian University). She was recognized in 2025 as one of 125 Remarkable Women, a nationwide initiative by Nexstar Media to honor the contributions women make to their communities. Lorraine is an Ambassador for the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s.
