$934K awarded through grant cycles in fiscal year 2023

The Community Foundation of Abilene and our donors awarded more than $934K through our community grant cycles during our 2023 fiscal year (July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023). We hold two community grant cycles each year – one in the spring and one in the fall.

Since the Foundation opened in 1985, donors have given unrestricted gifts and established field-of-interest funds to support local needs through the competitive grant cycles.

Additional contributions to grant cycles are made by donor-advised fundholders and general contributions from the community.

These grant opportunities are open to nonprofit organizations serving the Abilene community. The awarded nonprofits represent these categories:

• Arts and Culture: 9%
• Children and Youth: 22%
• Community Development: 16%
• Education: 3%
• Health: 13%
• Human Services: 37%
