Jean and Curly Hays Scholarship

Jean Hays established this scholarship because she felt strongly that higher education is important to a person’s career advancement and increases a person’s awareness of the world around them, including local community, civic, and cultural needs.
Jean and Curly were involved with numerous civic and cultural organizations in Abilene. Jean was active with The Grace Museum, Abilene Woman’s Club, and Alliance for Women and Children. Her husband, Curly Hays, was the farm and ranch representative for West Texas Utilities. His work with 4-H, stock shows, and local football touched many young lives.
