Foundation welcomes Tigé Boats and manufacturer’s new charitable funds

April 16, 2026

The Community Foundation of Abilene is proud to announce the establishment of The Tigé Boats Community Fund, a new charitable fund created in partnership with Tigé Boats, Inc.

Established through a significant charitable contribution, the Tigé Boats Community Fund will direct grants annually to organizations and causes, with a particular emphasis on initiatives that support children and youth.

“At the Foundation, we partner with individuals and organizations in supporting their charitable visions,” said Katie Alford, CFA President/CEO. “We are honored to serve as a connecting point for them, sharing our knowledge of local community needs.”

Administered by the Community Foundation of Abilene, the endowed fund is built to award grants year after year, creating lasting impact in the Big Country for generations to come.

“As a family-owned company, taking care of the community we call home is just part of who we are and what we stand for. We wanted to create something that reflects the heart of this company.

Tigé Boats also announced the launch of a second fund, the Tigé Scholarship Program

“Our people are the foundation of everything we build at Tigé, and this scholarship is our way of honoring the families behind them,” Charlie added.

This annual scholarship will be awarded to dependent children of current Tigé Boats employees who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at a four-year university or an accredited trade school.

Recipients are selected through the Foundation’s independent scholarship selection committees.

“For more than 30 years, Tigé Boats has been woven into the fabric of Abilene,” said Katie Alford. “This fund is a reflection of what happens when a great company chooses to invest in the community that helped make it great.”
