Chuck and Doris Moser Scholarship

Chuck Moser was born in Chillicothe Missouri and went on to play football at the University of Missouri. During his time in the Army Air Corps he met his wife, Doris. He accepted the position of head football coach at Abilene High in 1953. He led the team to three straight state titles in 1954, 1955 and 1960. Coach Moser was known for his high standards of integrity, academic performance and community service. He served as president of the Abilene Kiwanis Club and the Boy Scout Council. He was involved with the United Way and served as chairman of the board and Sunday school teacher. 

Doris Woodley Moser was born February 2, 1923, in Sabinal, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin as a mathematics major. She wrote two books, Take Time to Remember and Texas Courthouses. This scholarship will continue to honor the memory of Chuck and Doris Moser.
 


Eligibility

  • Graduating high school senior from Abilene High School, Cooper High School or Wylie High School (Must be at the same high school for at least 3 years) 
  • Graduating in the top 25% of your class 
  • Participated in varsity level sports
