Celebrating Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate and give love. It could be love for a significant other. For a friend. For your family. Or, for a charitable cause you hold dear.

We can provide ways for you to honor the cause you love, whether it be via donation to a CFA fund that makes grants to nonprofits, establishing your own fund to support your charitable interests, or letting us connect you to a charity that aligns with your passions.

Here are some of the funds you can make an online donation of any amount to support:

• Abilene Fund for the Arts - This fund makes grants to support local arts programs.
   
• Pat Meleen Vaughn Fund for the Humane Treatment of Animals - Grants from this fund go to local nonprofits treating animals.
   
• Abilene Fund for Helping Others - This fund makes grants to organizations in human services and was established with the belief that reaching out to neighbors in need is a core value of our community.
   
• Women's Fund for Health and Empowerment - Grants from this fund go to nonprofit programs that provide health care, education and other types of support for women and girls in our community.
   
• Future Fund - This membership-based fund makes grants to nonprofits serving local children and youth.
   
• Become a Friend of the Community Foundation - It's just $200 to become a Friend, which supports our general operations.
   
• Texas Veterans Cemetery Vietnam Memorial Project - This fund supports the creation and placement of a Vietnam Era Veterans Memorial Monument to be placed at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
   
• Greater Abilene Ministers Alliance (GAMA) Scholarship - This college scholarship is for local graduating seniors who represent a demographic minority. Supporting this scholarship is also a great way to honor Black History Month.
   
• Unrestricted Endowment - This endowment fund provides grant opportunities for which any local nonprofit can apply. Unrestricted endowments give CFA the opportunity to respond to emerging needs in our community.
