Community Foundation of Abilene : Receive : Scholarships

Sharing your College Dreams.......Building a Brighter Community.

Our scholarship funds assist many Abilene area students in completing their education. The Community Foundation of Abilene is pleased to administer 48 scholarship funds, many of which have been established as memorials for loved ones. The Foundation appreciates the willingness of citizens to help with the education of tomorrow's leaders. During the 2008-2009 academic year, the Foundation awarded approximately $129,600 in scholarships through the generosity of such citizens. Approximately $44,632 of this is distributed to the three local universities (Abilene Christian, Hardin-Simmons and McMurry) for scholarships awarded by them to local students.

For more information regarding scholarships, please visit either our listing of scholarships and their qualifications or our example of bookmarks for memorial scholarship funds.

If you would like to establish a scholarship fund with the Foundation, please contact Katie Alford (cfa@abilene.com) or Nita Slaton (nslaton@abilene.com). If you are an Abilene area student wishing to apply for one of our scholarships, please contact your high school counselor for eligibility requirements. Some criteria/application forms can be downloaded from our Scholarship Description page.
